False claims and conspiracies put down their roots about coronavirus vaccines on social media during the pandemic.

Facebook and Instagram apps have strict their policies after long taking a hands-off approach to vaccine misinformation, remain home to large accounts, pages, and groups that promote false claims about the shots, and can be easily found through keyword searches.

“The false claims were taken by the company “very seriously” but said there was “a huge gray area of people who have concerns…some of which some people would call misinformation and some of which other people would call doubt.” said by Facebook’s Cheif Product Officer Chris Cox in an interview.

Moving on, he added, “The best thing to do in that huge gray area is just to show up with authoritative information in a helpful way, be a part of the conversation and do it with health experts.”

The Company said, It was labeling Instagram and Facebook vaccines posts discussing the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine, saying that the vaccine undergoes safety and efficacy tests before approval.

Moreover, in the blog post, it also said that it has removed more than 2 million pieces of content from both Facebook and Instagram apps due to false claims about coronavirus and vaccines made in February. Facebook owner said it had also set the metrics temporary and reduce the reach of content from users accordingly who repeatedly share content marked false by fact-checkers.
